Leonardo Teachers Courses
This resource was funded with support from the European Commission under the Leonardo da Vinci Programme (Project no. 2010-1-PL1-LEO05-11460): Framework for Continuing Educational Development of Trainers in General Practice in Europe (CEDinGP). The resource reflects the views only of the authors, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
The objective of the Framework for Continuing Educational Development of Trainers in General Practice in Europe (CEDinGP) project was to propose, develop and implement an educational framework for family medicine teachers working in GP education in Europe. The framework provides the basis for the development of educational courses for GP/FM teachers on 3 levels:
- level 1 course (competent educator)
- level 2 course (proficient educator)
- level 3 course (educational expert)
The CEDinGP final document, with full details of this project, was launched at the WONCA Europe Regional Conference 2012 held in Vienna, Austria on 4-7 July 2012 and may be downloaded from here.
The leading role in maintaining the sustainability of the project results is the European Academy of Teachers in General Practice / Family Medicine (EURACT) with its representatives from 40 European countries. The realisation of the project has led to the construction of a European Network of GP/FM teachers supported by this innovative Internet based educational platform hosted on the EURACT website.
